GDPR is the word on everyone’s lips at the moment. The General Data Protection Regulation comes into effect on 25th May 2018 and will impact every company.

GDPR requires you to look at your business in detail and understand how you collect, process and store data personal date. You need to establish data protection policies and setup processes for handling inquiries, complaints and data breaches.

With fines of up to €20m or 4% of turnover, it’s not an issue that is worth ignoring. There is plenty of informaton on the ICO website, or for more details contact us and we will point you in the right direction.

St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle will be the venue on Saturday for the marriage of Prince Harry and his wife to be Meghan Markle. The words on everyone’s lips will be ‘has the MJH Accountants team received a royal invite’. Unfortunately they must not have the right postal address for ourselves otherwise I think we may have been given the go ahead.

Although the public were given a day off to celebrate the weddings of Prince Charles to Diana Spencer in 1981, Prince William to Catherine Middleton in 2011, and Princess Anne to Mark Phillips in 1973, Prince Harry and his fiancée’s choice to wed on May 19 avoids the issue of whether or not the royal wedding should be a bank holiday.

The chosen date falls on the same day as the FA Cup final at Wembley, a match that Prince Harry’s best man, the Duke of Cambridge, usually attends as president of the Football Association to present the trophy (a quick change may be in order).

Here’s a quick schedule of how the big day will unfold:

08:00 – Invited members of the public start to gather on a lawn outside the chapel from where they’ll watch the royals come and go.

09:00 – MJH Accountants Opens.

09:30 – Chapel guests begin to arrive and must be seated by 11:15

11:20 – The Royal Family arrives

12:00 – MJH Accountants Closes.

12:15 – The Service in St George’s Chapel gets underway in front of the 600 guests.

13:00 – The newlyweds travel in an open carriage as part of a 25-minute procession from St George’s Chapel through Windsor town.

Afternoon: There will be a reception at St George’s Hall for the couple and their guests.

Evening: Prince Charles will give a private reception at Frogmore House for the couple and 200 close friends and family.
