The last few months have been incredibly busy at MJH.
The transfer window has been ‘hotting up’ here too as 3 new recruits have joined the firm over the last month to help manage our ever expanding client base.
Olivia Bass and Joe Hopkins (“New Joe”) have joined our team as trainee accountants and Cindy has joined as our new Practice Administrator, having replaced Megan who decided to return to academia.
These appointments bring our current headcount to 10; meanwhile, we are still actively recruiting a payroll manager to take care of our growing client base in that department.
The beginning of September also marked some very notable achievements in the office as James and Joe (“Old Joe”) passed their final ACA exams and qualified as Chartered Accountants. Their success takes the number of fully qualified ICAEW Chartered Accountants in the firm to 4.
Qualifying as a Chartered Accountant takes endless hours of work and determination both to pass exams whilst also satisfying the Institute’s work experience requirements which run alongside the academic part of the qualification.
I, along with all of my colleagues, are incredibly proud of James and Joe’s achievements and hope they will be at the firm for a very long time to come to share their knowledge and experience with the team and our clients.
At MJH, we all know that we are very fortunate to enjoy the lives we do without having to worry that our basic needs will be met from one day to the next, unfortunately, this can’t be said for everyone.
We take our social responsibilities very seriously and try, where we can, to help improve the chances for those less fortunate than ourselves, both within the local area and further afield.
In July, by providing t-shirts and wristbands, we supported the wonderful staff and students at Ashton Community and Science College in their “Docks to Disney” fun run which involved students, staff and their friends and colleagues completing as many laps of Preston’s Dock as they could with the objective of totting up the 6,777km it would take to reach Disneyworld in Orlando.
They did all of this to help children who are diagnosed with certain forms of cancerous tumours and need to go to Orlando to receive life-saving Proton Beam Therapy. INCREDIBLE ACHIEVEMENT, WELL DONE GUYS!
On 6th December, we are hosting our Christmas party (more to follow) in aid of The Foxton Centre in Preston. With a free bar, extensive buffet, music, games and much much more, get the date in your diary now.
Thank you for reading.
