MJH goes the extra mile
At MJH Accountants, we make every effort to integrate ourselves into our local community and importantly, we genuinely care for those less fortunate than ourselves.
There are a great number of charities of all shapes and sizes who work very hard across Lancashire and the North West and we look to support them where we can.
Mark says;
“I have been very fortunate in my life, firstly benefiting from a strong family upbringing which stood me in very good stead for my education and career which followed, and with the continued support of my family and of previous employers, I now am the managing director of an expanding firm of Chartered Accountants in Fulwood and can enjoy a comfortable lifestyle, (when I get time).
But unfortunately, not everybody benefits from such good fortune and that is why I am keen to support charitable work, especially in the local area.”
To these ends, Mark is preparing for two events, for two different causes, both taking place in May.
KESWICK TO BARROW WALK
On Saturday 9th May, Mark, together with his wife Laura, are taking part in the “Keswick to Barrow” 40 mile sponsored walk.
Mark and Laura are by no means strangers to the event, which is now in its 49th year, Mark having completed it 3 times already (2007, 2009 and 2010) and Laura twice (2009 and 2010) but one thing for sure, it certainly does not get any easier with age.
Mark and Laura are part of Team “Road Runner’s” who are raising money for local charities throughout Cumbria.

ST CATHERINE’S BIG BIKE RIDE
The following weekend, Mark will be completing the “St Catherine’s Big Bike Ride” which is ‘extra big’ this year, to celebrate the Hospice’s 30th anniversary.
St Catherine’s do a fabulous job providing specialist palliative care across Central Lancashire and helps people suffering from incurable conditions to live as independently as possible and improve their quality of life.
Many people across Preston will know of someone who has benefited from the care that St Catherine’s provide and we are delighted at MJH to be supporting the work that they do.
Mark will be in the saddle for 75 miles around a circular route from Preston Grasshoppers RUFC in Fulwood, across to the Kirkham and then northwards up through Great Eccleston, Pilling, and Lancaster, eventually reaching Hornby where the route starts to return towards Fulwood, taking in Garstang and Scorton along the way.

Thank you for your support
Thank you very much for reading our blog and we know all too well that you are probably asked regularly to pledge your support to various causes and this is just one more.
We understand and appreciate that, and are certainly not asking you to offer more than you can afford, however, any donations which you could make will be greatly appreciated and help our chosen charities continue the fabulous work that they carry out.
We are certainly not expecting you to support both events, unless you wish to, so if you wish to sponsor via the other methods (apart from online / text), then please make it clear which event you are supporting.
