Helping to make a difference

With so much bad news in the world today, from global disasters to national budget cuts, sometimes it’s good to be reminded that not everything out there is terrible. In fact there is a lot going on across the globe and country which is truly great – but receives little attention.

So here at MJH we join together every year with a local charity to see what we can do and to inspire you to “help make a difference”.

No matter what the weather we go all out from participating in bike rides to raffles and having a magical ball to boot. All the money raised throughout the year will go to the Charity that gets selected by the Staff at MJH.

2025-2026

This year we are fundraising for The Brain Tumour Charity

The aims of The Brain Tumour Charity are to:-

  • Improve understanding, diagnosis and treatment of brain tumours
  • Fund scientific and clinical research into brain tumours
  • Provide support and information to those affected
  • Raise awareness and influence policy

2023-2024

£12,000 Donation for Motor Neurone Disease Association

Our chosen charity for 2023/24 was MND Preston, supporting the vital work of the MND Association in improving access to care, funding research, and campaigning for people living with or affected by Motor Neurone Disease across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

To raise funds, some of our team quite literally took the leap, skydiving from 15,000ft in support of this incredible cause.

2021-2022

£17,500.00 Donation for The Friends of the Sir Tom Finney High School

In 2021 we went even bigger and raised a whopping £17,500.00 for The Friends of the Sir Tom Finney High School. Sir Tom Finney Community High School is a secondary school based in Preston that caters for educational needs, learning difficulties and disabilities.

In 2022 we raised £8,500.00 for St Catherines Hospice who provide care for patients and families across Chorley, Preston and South Ribble who are affected by life-shortening conditions like cancer, motor neurone disease and heart failure.

2019 - 2020

£2,500 Donation for The Foxton Centre

In 2019 we raised for the Foxton Centre £2,500.00. The Foxton Centre provides support, safety and resources for vulnerable adults and young people in Preston

In 2020 we wanted to go bigger so for the Space Centre we raised over £8,500.00. The centre has the largest multi-sensory environment in the United Kingdom for people with special needs. They wanted to provide a place where those with physical, learning or emotional difficulties may more easily acquire skills and enjoy experiences usually denied them.
